Description: Join us at Oakland’s beautiful Lake Merritt for an easy mid-day stroll to explore the many birds that reside here year-round as well as the winter migrants. This trip requires very little traveling on mostly level wheelchair accessible terrain and there are benches at frequent intervals.
Please bring layered clothing, water, sunscreen, something to sit on if needed and binoculars. If you need binoculars, please let Judy know by Mon Dec 9. judithsmith313@gmail.com 510-914-0870.
There are accessible restrooms at the Boating Center .1mile from the Rotary Nature Center.

Directions: We will meet near the Bird Islands (east of the Rotary Nature Center).
Public transit: Take the 12, N, or NL bus to Grand and Perkins and walk into the park on Perkins. Driving:
Parking:
To be fairly sure of a close-by parking space, enter the park area from Grand Ave at Bellevue (signed for Children’s Fairyland). Parking is $5 but depending on who is at the kiosk, parking may be free with a disabled placard or plates. Drive around past
past the Boating Center to the Rotary Nature Center. There is one accessible space by the Nature Center.
