Behind the Scenes: Oakland Zoo
04/06/2025 08:30 AM - 02:00 PM PT
Description
From feathers to fur to scales, get insider information from three knowledgeable guides about how the Oakland Zoo cares for its inhabitants. Get behind-the-scenes views of animals, learn how behavioral enrichment and husbandry training enhance the lives of zoo residents, and ride the Gondola to spectacular bay-wide views from this special community gem which recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary. Don't forget your binoculars as we'll be birding as we tour the Zoo.
The guides are volunteering their time and the zoo makes no money from this event. So please consider making a donation: https://www.oaklandzoo.org/donate-to-oakland-zoo. We'll break for lunch at noon in the Habitarium. Lunch is not included so pack your lunch or buy it at the zoo. We'll be indoors at times, so we suggest you bring a mask.
Registration opens at 1pm on Friday, February 28 and closes at 11pm on Thursday, April 3.
