Date and Time: Saturday November 8 – 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Description: We will bird through East Bay Regional Park District Sobrante Ridge Regional Park’s variety of habitats, including chaparral and scrub, grassland, and coast live oak woodland. Likely birds include Hutton’s vireo, Bewick’s wren, California and spotted towhees, wrentit, raptors and more. The trails are hard-packed earth with some hills. At this time of year, the trails may be muddy and slippery. In addition to good birding, the park has a diverse flora which offers additional interest. There are no bathroom facilities or water. Heavy rain cancels.
Trip Size: 15 people max
Directions: Meet at the top of Heavenly Ridge Lane in Richmond, near street address 5430 Heavenly Ridge Lane. From there, we will hike on the park’s trails.
From San Pablo Dam Road in Richmond/El Sobrante, take Valley View Road to Amend Road and turn left onto Heavenly Ridge Lane and proceed to the top.
