Description: Valle Vista is an EBMUD protected watershed near the town of Moraga. It offers a diverse combination of habitats, including a freshwater lake, open woodlands, and chaparral, which means we can hope to see a wide variety of birds. We typically find 40-50 or more species during these trips. We aim to help beginning birders to identify birds and to improve their birding skills, but all birders are welcome, and “beginner’s mind” is encouraged.
The walk is approximately 2 miles on a relatively easy wide dirt road with a few minor ups and downs. Bathroom at the trailhead only; no water available, so bring your own
Limit: 15
Directions: Take Highway 24 to the Orinda/Moraga exit. Head south onto Camino Pablo, which turns into Moraga Way. After approximately 4.5 miles, turn right onto Canyon Road. Go approximately 1 mile; the parking lot and trailhead are on the left.
