Description:
Join us for a fall mindful marsh meander at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont! We’ll bring our attention and curiosity as we explore this waterbird gem. Throughout the outing, we’ll
explore how mindfulness and bringing our careful attention to our surroundings can change our experience of birding. We’ll be pausing a few times at different spots to explore the marsh
sounds, practice really noticing what we can see, and do some optional nature journaling. All birding levels welcome.
Meet at 9:00AM. Hike departs promptly at 9:15 AM. Please allow time to drive in from the entrance, pay the parking fee, and find parking. Additional details on meeting location will be sent to registrants.
Optionally, bring a packed lunch and join us for a bite to eat at the Visitor Center picnic area afterward.
Accessibility:
Trails include flat wide paved trails, firm dirt and gravel trails, and wooden boardwalks. The outing will last a couple hours over mostly flat trails outdoors with no shade and will involve
long periods of standing. A few benches are scattered throughout the marsh at irregular intervals.
The total excursion is less than 2 miles. There are restrooms near our meeting point at the Visitor
Center.
What to Bring:
Bring binoculars, sunscreen/sun protection, water, and snacks. Also bring your nature journal, scope, hiking stool or sit pad, if you have them. No dogs or other pets.
Parking Fee:
Coyote Hills charges an Entrance/Parking fee of $5/car (or EBRPD pass).
