Description: We will walk about 2.5 miles through shrubs, grass and mixed forest habitats to look for Lazuli Bunting, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, Pygmy Nuthatch, Purple Finch, California Thrasher, swallows, Golden Eagles and others. The hike has a couple short ups and downs, no benches, and bathroom and water at parking lot.
Bring binoculars and dress/accessorize accordingly (hats and water for sun and heat). Heavy rain cancels. You might consider bringing snacks. Check out the Ebird list for this location at https://ebird.org/barchart?r=L311906&yr=all&m=.
Trip Size: 20 participants max
Directions: We’ll meet at the visitor’s center on Skyline Blvd. The lot is about 500 ft southeast of the intersection of Skyline Blvd and Grizzly Peak Blvd. Consider carpooling; the lot can fill up early with dog-walkers. If full, you can park on Skyline.
