Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline offers a range of habitats including deep and shallow water, shoreline, lagoon, meadow, and chaparral. We will start by scoping the water between the shoreline and Brooks Island, a deep water channel where some late wintering diving birds may be found, and scope any birds roosting on Brooks Island Jetty. We then proceed to Ferry Point and scope the open water of San Francisco Bay before a leisurely loop around the pond for shorebirds, a part of the walk that visits grassy areas and woodlands rich in passerine species. Walk back along the Bay fronting trail, then wrap up back at Ferry Point picnic and parking area.
