Birding American Canyon Wetlands by Bike
Description
Enjoy a casual bike ride birding American Canyon, the most prolific birding hotspot in Napa County, perhaps getting a last look at some of your favorite waterfowl and shorebirds before they fly north to their breeding grounds. From September-May, it can be easy to find 80-plus species of birds along the eight-mile network of river and marsh trails now open at American Canyon. American Canyon is a great spot to see teal, Canvasback, stilts, avocets, pelicans, rails, kites, and much more. Here, at the confluence of the Napa River and the Bay, water from the Pacific Ocean intermingles with river water forming an estuarine habitat that is home to a diverse population of amphibians, fish, mammals and birds. Registration opens at 1pm on Friday, February 28 and closes at 11pm on Thursday, March 20. Date/Time: Saturday, March 22 – 8:30am to 1pm Trip Size: 8 Accesibility
