Lake Solano County Park

05/03/2025 08:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT

Description

Come with us to bird at Lake Solano County Park on Putah Creek, the most popular birding hotspot in Solano County.  We will be looking for resident species, others that come here to breed and some just passing through on the way to northern breeding grounds. The oak woodland, riparian habitat and creek can result in bird sightings that include Osprey, Green Heron, Phainopepla, Wood Duck, Bullock’s Oriole, Black-headed Grosbeak, Ash-throated Flycatcher, a variety of swallows and hopefully several species of woodpeckers. If our deepest wishes are granted, we could possibly spot a Pileated Woodpecker or Lewis’s Woodpecker. For those who’d like to stay, we’ll have lunch at picnic tables in the park before heading home.

Registration opens at 1pm on Friday, February 28 and closes at 11pm on Thursday, May 1.
