Angel Island State Park
Description
Trip Leader: Evan Weissman, evan.weissman@parks.ca.gov
Date: Saturday, December 9
Description: Angel Island is a beautiful place to hear and see a wide variety of Bay Area birds. Birders of all abilities are welcome, and everyone can help identify, discuss, and enjoy the birds we observe. For a sneak peak at some of the species we might encounter, check out Common Birds of Angel Island State Park.
We'll walk about 1.5 miles at a leisurely pace. Note that the trail is only partially paved, and includes dirt sections with uneven surfaces and some moderately steep sections including stairs. Bring binoculars if you have them; we’ll also have a few to borrow. Heavy rain cancels.
Trip Size: 25 participants max
Directions: Take the earliest ferry from either Tiburon (Angel Island Tiburon Ferry) or the San Francisco Ferry Building (Golden Gate Ferry). Tickets for the TIburon ferry may be purchased in advance online. From San Francisco you can simply tap a Clipper card as you board, or purchase tickets at the Ferry Building on the day of your visit. Once on Angel Island, we'll meet at 10:45 am at the large "Welcome" sign at the ferry dock.
Registration will open at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 21 and it will close at 11pm on Thursday, December 7.
