San Francisco Habitats and their Birds

Desciption: This class explores natural spaces in San Francisco in order to help birders develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between birds and their habitats. Participants will learn some natural history of San Francisco, along with the identification of the most common plants that attract birds as well as the role of native plants in habitats. Participants will become proficient in using iNaturalist to record and share observations.
After participating in this class, you will have an  awareness of the conservation needs of San Francisco habitats and have the skills to contribute to conservation efforts.

Classes: Four Tuesday evening classes by Zoom: April 30; May 7, 14, 21: 6 to 8 pm.

Three 3-hour Sunday field trips: May 5, 12, 19: 9 to 11 am.
Field trip locations will be announced in class and by email.
All field trips will be in San Francisco and accessible by public transportation.
A self-organizing carpool site will also be available.

Group Size12 participants max

Price: $250 ($200 for GGBA members (a 20% discount).

Registration opens at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 14 and closes at 11pm on Monday, April 29.
