Pier 94 (SF, Eastern Waterfront) Bioblitz

Participants will use iNaturalist to ID creatures and plants at our Pier 94 Salt Marsh Wetland on San Francisco's eastern waterfront. We will look in the uplands and along the Salt Marsh shoreline, home to the endangered rare native plant Suaeda californica, common name-California Seablite. This plant is a host (food) plant for the endangered butterfly Brephidium exili, common name-Western Pigmy Blue. Please have the app iNaturalist loaded on your phone and review the basic use instructions before the event. We will go over usage at beginning of the morning and you will be uploading your photos to our Project as you go or at end of event. At this fun and casual event you will see shorebirds, waterfowl, other birds, plants and wildlife while taking in great views at the water's edge. No experience needed.

Wear closed-toe shoes, and weather appropriate clothing including dress in layers with long pants and long sleeved shirt, hat, sunscreen. Private Port-Potty on site. Bring your filled water bottle--NO POTABLE WATER ON SITE.
