Giving Tuesday at Pier 94 (SF, Eastern Waterfront)
Location
Description
This Giving Tuesday join Golden Gate Bird Alliance staff at Pier 94 in San Francisco as we plant native plants and remove invasive species to create habitat for local birds! Giving Tuesday is an international day of generosity, there's no better time to take action and support another year of amazing work within our communities. If you're a bird fan, a native plant enthusiast, or just want to get to know our team, then consider joining us in the field!
Help with a variety of activities at Pier 94 on San Francisco's eastern waterfront, including planting and maintaining native plants, and removing invasive non-native plants in the uplands and along the salt marsh wetlands shoreline, home to the endangered rare native plant Suaeda californica, common name-California Seablite. This plant is a rare host (food) plant for the endangered butterfly Brephidium exili, common name-Western Pigmy Blue.
Bring your water bottle. Wear closed-toe shoes, and weather appropriate clothing, i.e. dress in layers with long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Bring your own gardening gloves if you like but gloves and tools will also be provided. Porta Potty on site.
This event is in support of Giving Tuesday. Whether or not you can attend, but would still like to support Habitat Restoration, your support through donations will be much apprciated! Make your donation here.
Detailed meeting spot and directions will be emailed to registered participants.
