SF Habitats and their Birds
Description
Instructors: Jeanette Pettibone (jpettibone@goldengatebirds.org) with Patricia Tsao on field trips
Description: This class offers a survey of the various bird habitats in San Francisco. The lectures will go over the birds and plants in SF’s habitats as well as topics such as the geological formation of the SF peninsula, the SF Bay Estuary, and SF’s particular weather patterns. Each field trip will be in a location with two or more habitats and we’ll be able to use what we learn in the lectures to compare the birds and plants we find in each.
Participants should have some birding experience, be comfortable using binoculars, be able to describe and discuss field marks of birds with others.
Recordings of the lecture presentations will be available to class participants for a limited amount of time.
