Behind the Scenes: Cal Academy

04/17/2025 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM PT

Description

Enjoy an evening behind the scenes at the California Academy of Sciences with Jack Dumbacher, Curator of Mammalogy and Ornithology at the Cal Academy, and one of the instructors of GGBA’s Master Birder Program.  A special highlight will be a chance to see the Museum’s collections of bird skins. The Museum holds 96,000 birds, 28,500 mammals, 11,000 egg and nest specimens, and one of the world's largest marine mammal collections, all helping scientists better understand these organisms and the threats they face.
