Description: Join us for a leisurely bird tour of the San Francisco Botanical Gardens. Fall bird migration will be in full swing, so we will look for unusual warblers passing through and our returning overwintering birds including Townsend's and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Fox Sparrows, Golden-crowned Sparrows, Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Hermit Thrushes.  We'll also be on the lookout for our familiar friends such as Anna's Hummingbirds, Black Phoebes, Scrub Jays, Robins, California Towhees, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, White-crowned Sparrows and Song Sparrows.  Binoculars recommended and if you have an extra pair to share, please bring it!

We will walk slowly, stopping to look and listen often, for no more than a half mile during the two hour outing.  The terrain is primarily flat and paved, with a few gravel or bark side trails.  There are plentiful benches throughout the garden. There are port-o-lets near the main entrance, and at least one restroom near side entrance.  The second restroom closer to the main entrance may still be under rehabilitation.
