Date: Thursday May 8 – 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Description: We will walk around North Lake in Golden Gate Park and possibly along some adjacent trails. We will see some water birds, but mostly will see land birds. We will look for resident and breeding birds with the possibility of also seeing a few late departing winter birds and some migrants. Total distance around 1½ miles. The trails around North Lake are level; there may be a little up and down hill if we also hike in the nearby woods. The trails can be narrow. There is a restroom on the north side of JFK just a bit west of where we will be meeting. All levels of birders welcome. Please bring your binoculars. Rain cancels.
You can reach me by phone or text at 415 317 5893, or via email at joelperl@earthlink.net (You will reach me faster if you use my cell; please leave a message if I don't answer.)

Directions: We will meet at the south end of North Lake; at the bottom of the steps that lead down from John F Kennedy Drive, just west of its intersection with Chain of Lakes Drive. There should be parking available along JFK Drive.
