Bird Curious @ Mt Davidson (San Francisco)
Description
Leaders: Facilitators: Travis Smith, Donna Borden, Patrick Meeker, Lydia Bruno (lydia.e.bruno@gmail.com)
Date: Sunday, May 11, 8 AM to 10 AM
Description: Join us as we explore birding hotspot, Mt. Davidson, the highest natural point in SF, during migration season.
This field trip is part of the Bird Curious series, which aims to create a welcoming learning environment for new birders while building community through shared exploration, education and discovery.
Check out a list of birds we could potentially see on our walk here.
No binoculars? No problem! Fill out this form to check out a pair from Golden Gate Bird Alliance’s lending library. We will also have a few loaner pairs on hand, available on a first come, first served basis. If you have an extra pair of binoculars and you’re willing to bring them along to share, please do!
We expect the outing to be about 2 hours, on mostly unpaved, uneven and rocky trails, including some moderate to steep slopes. There are no public restrooms.
Trip Size: 15 participants
Directions: Meet at the park trailhead at the intersection of Dalewood Way and Lansdale Ave (google map pin). Street parking available. Also accessible via public transit.
