Description
Facilitators: Cheryl Foster, cherylafoster@gmail.com Erin Wolf, erinelizabethwolf@gmail.com and Jameson Wolf, jw.urrabazowolf@gmail.com
Date: Sunday June 15 – 8:15 to 11:00 a.m.
Description: Join us at Arrowhead Marsh! The tide will be receding so we’ll have a chance to see Ridgway’s Rail, a rare bird that frequents the marsh, and some interesting year-round birds.
This walk is part of the Bird Curious series. Bird Curious is for new birders and those who enjoy helping and sharing knowledge with new birders. Our purpose is to create community around birds and deepen our relationship with the natural world through shared education and discovery. Bird Curious walks are free, but please register so we know you’re coming!
No binoculars? No problem! Fill out this form to check out a pair from Golden Gate Bird Alliance’s lending library.
We expect the walk to take about 2 hours, on mostly flat ground. Restrooms and water fountains are available near the parking lot. Heavy rain cancels. If you require any special accommodations, please email us to let us know.
Please provide at least 3 days advance notice for cancellations so we can open your spot for others to attend.
Trip Size: 15 participants
Directions: From I-880 in Oakland, exit at Hegenberger Road and head west toward the Oakland Airport. Turn right onto Pardee Drive and then left on Swan Way. Turn right into the park (the park sign is posted low on the fence), go past the first two parking lots on your left and arrive at the third parking lot where the entrance road ends and our field trip begins. The entrance drive is 0.9 miles.
