Trip Leader: Derek Heins, 925-548-6436, dlheins@gmail.com

Date: Thursday, September 11 - 9 to 11 a.m.

Description: Booker T. Anderson Jr. Park has come on to the scene in recent years as one of the premier fall migration songbird destinations for East Bay birders.  The small stream and riparian habitat running through the park has been a magnet not only for expected migrants such as Yellow Warbler, Western Tanager and Willow Flycatcher but also has recorded such rarities as Baltimore Oriole and Great-crested Flycatcher.  Overall, we should see a nice variety of birds in this urban park.

All of our walk will be flat, partially on mainly paved walkways but also walking on mowed areas. Some benches for resting are available if needed. There will be a bathroom facility in the park that we will be close by during most of our outing.

Trip Size: Walk is restricted to 15 participants

Directions: Meet in the Booker T. Anderson Jr. parking lot off South 47th St. between Carlson Blvd. and Cypress Avenue.
