11/13/2025 08:30 AM - 11:00 AM PT

Description

Leader: Joel Perlstein (415) 317-5893 joelperl@earthlink.net

Date: Thursday, November 13 – 8:30 to 11 am

Description: We will walk around North Lake in Golden Gate Park and along some adjacent trails, looking for resident and over-wintering birds, on both land and water. Hope to see some wintering ducks.  Total distance 1 to 1½ miles.  The trails around North Lake are level; there may be a little up and down hiking in the nearby woods.  The trails can be narrow.  There is a bathroom on JFK Drive just a bit west of our meeting point.  There are some benches along the trail.  All levels of birders welcome.  Please bring your binoculars.  Rain cancels.

If there is rain on the 13th, I plan to reschedule to the following Thursday, November 20, same time and location, and hope it doesn't rain that day.

Trip Size: Maximum 8

We will meet at the south end of North Lake; at the bottom of the steps that lead down from John F Kennedy Drive, just west of its intersection with Chain of Lakes Drive.  There should be parking available along JFK Drive  there is a restroom on the north side of JFK just a bit west of where we will be meeting.
