Description: Bird Curious is a series of bird walks for people new to birding or GGBA field trips.  They are designed to be a supportive introduction to nature and birding.  Our goal is to build interest in birding while building community with fellow learners!
Join us for an exploration of Candlestick Point State Recreation Area, a birding hotspot with numerous habitat types. We’ll be on the lookout for wintering shorebirds, waterbirds, gulls, warblers, sparrows and raptors.  We may even find some lingering migrants that haven’t left the area.

No binoculars? No problem! Fill out this form to check out a pair from Golden Gate Bird Alliance’s lending library. We will also have a few loaner pairs on hand, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have an extra pair of binoculars and you’re willing to bring them along to share, please do!
We will also have spotting scopes for folks to see birds at a distance.
We will cover 2 miles or so over the course of 2 hours, on mostly even, unpaved trails. There are restrooms near the meeting spot and throughout the park. google map. 

Limit: 15 Participants Max

Directions: Meet at the picnic tables near the restrooms at the northern end of the parking lot, closer to the entrance. (google map)
There is ample parking in a lot near the restrooms. We will send out a carpool sign up to those people attending the field trip.
