Heron’s Head Park (San Francisco)

Date: Sunday November 9 – 8 to 10 a.m.
Description: Get to know the birds that live near you! Heron’s Head has a diverse array of water and land birds, join us to learn about the abundant wildlife in this corner of San Francisco. We will expect to see many gulls, terns, herons and returning shorebirds. There will also be a variety of songbirds including meadowlarks, finches and several sparrow species. Raptors are often seen hunting in this area and we will be on the look out for rarer birds that are migrating at this time of year!
Meet in the parking lot at Heron’s Head where there is a restroom, if you’re desperate!
Most of the walk is flat, on mainly paved walkways. Some benches for resting if needed. Heavy rain cancels.
Trip Size: Walk is restricted to 12 participants
Directions: Meet in Heron’s Head parking lot, next to Butcher Town dog run.

Registration for this event will open at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 21, and close at 11 pm on Thursday, November 6.
