Description

Trip Leader: Rachel Lawrence rlawrence@goldengatebirds.org

Date: Sunday, December 7 – 8 to 10 a.m.

Description: Watch the changing of the seasons at Heron’s Head, a San Francisco park with a diverse array of water and land birds. Join us on Dec 7th to learn about the abundant wildlife in this corner of San Francisco. We expect to see many gulls, terns, herons, shorebirds, and over-wintering ducks, grebes and loons. There will also be a variety of songbirds including mockingbirds, finches and several sparrow species. Raptors are often seen hunting in this area, and we will also be on the lookout for any rarer birds passing through the area!

Meet in the parking lot at Heron’s Head, where there is a restroom, if you’re desperate!

Most of the walk is flat, on mainly paved walkways. Some benches for resting if needed. Heavy rain cancels.

Trip Size: Walk is restricted to 12 participants. If you are unable to attend please email Rachel at rlawrence@goldengatebirds.org  so that we can offer your place to another participant.

Directions: Meet in Heron’s Head parking lot, next to Butcher Town dog run.
