Description: Join Daniel Elting for a leisurely afternoon bird walk on the Dotson Family Marsh portion at Point Pinole. As tides roll out for the evening, large groups of wintering ducks and shorebirds are expected to be nicely visible. Additional exciting targets could be hunting Short-eared owls! Which have been regularly emerging in the afternoon at the marsh this winter. Burrowing owls also may be present.
The public access trail is flat and easily walkable, expect under 2 miles of walking on gravel and boardwalks over the marsh. Rain cancels
Limit: 10 Participants Max
We will meet at the public access parking lot for Point Pinole Regional Park located at the end of Goodrick Road off Richmond Parkway. Richmond Parkway can be accessed via exits on both I-80 and I-580 near the bridge
