Urban SF Wildlife Ramble

Description: Join Jeff Miller for an urban wildlife jaunt to find iconic Frisco fauna. We will start at Sue Bierman Park, a downtown birding hotspot. We'll walk to nearby Filbert Steps and Coit Tower to look for feral parakeets; then hoof it over to Pier 39 to gawk at lounging sea lions. This is a 1.5-mile hike. Jeff will continue on with ambitious participants another 3 miles to visit Crissy Field for shorebirds, fish and marine mammals. Easy bus ride back along the Embarcadero for participants to the starting location and BART. Participants will have the option of ending around 1 pm Pier 39; or continuing on and ending at around 3 pm at Crissy Field. Trip participants will have to take a bus back along the Embarcadero to get back to Embarcadero BART.

Meet at 7:30 am at Sue Bierman Park (37.796158, -122.395978) in San Francisco (very close to Embarcadero BART)
