Leader: Alan Krakauer, (510) 932-1930, Alan.krakauer@gmail.com
Date: Thursday April 23 -- 8:30 am to 12 p.m.
Description: We will explore the northwestern portion of Wildcat Canyon Regional Park starting from the Alvarado Staging Area. The exact route will depend on what we can find, but will include paved fire roads, uneven dirt (potentially muddy) trails and maybe a little off-trail travel through uneven grass. There is approximately 500 feet of elevation gain up to San Pablo Ridge and no facilities once we leave the parking lot. We can hope to see or hear Lazuli Bunting, Grasshopper Sparrow, Wrentit, California Thrasher, Kestrel, and many other woodland and grassland birds.
Limit: 15
Parking is free in the EBRPD lot or on street. Use the Alvarado Staging Area on Park Avenue off of McBryde Avenue in Richmond. Meet near the rest room and picnic tables in the parking lot.
