Description
Leader: Joel Perlstein, (415) 317-5893, joelperl@earthlink.net
Date: Tuesday, May 19 -- 8:30 to 11:00 am
Description: We will walk slowly around North Lake in Golden Gate Park and along some adjacent trails, looking on both land and water for birds that breed in San Francisco, with the possibility of catching a few late spring migrants. Total distance up to 1½ miles. The trails around North Lake are level; there may be a little up and down hill hiking in the nearby woods. The trails can be narrow. We will meet at the south end of North Lake; at the bottom of the steps that lead down from John F Kennedy Drive, just west of its intersection with Chain of Lakes Drive. There should be parking available along JFK Drive and there is a restroom on the north side of JFK just a bit west of where we will be meeting. There will be some benches along the route, but only enough space for a few people to sit down at the same time. All levels of birders welcome. Please bring your binoculars. Rain cancels.
Limit: 8
Directions: Meet at Golden Gate Park, along JFK Drive, just west of Chain of Lakes Drive.
