Bird Journaling in the East Bay
Description
Registration opens on Wednesday May 6 at 1 pm and closes on Thursday August 13 at 11 pm.
Instructors: Rachel Katz rkatz@goldengatebirds.org 631-813-6362 and Marisa Burman
Description: Keeping a journal is a great complement to observation in order to deepen our understanding of birds. All levels of bird and journal/art experience are welcome in this class, during which we spend time collaboratively building our knowledge of birds through observation, notetaking, writing, sketching, and having unstructured time to work in our journals inspired by what we saw and learned together.
Be prepared to participate and collaborate in a diverse learning community. Carpooling will be organized and the facilitators will be sensitive to accessibility needs. The outings will be in the East Bay and be on mostly flat paths with benches. Binoculars are encouraged but we can start you with a loaner pair. You should definitely bring a field notebook and any art supplies you prefer. Some materials provided, but bring water and snacks.
Three Sunday morning field trips, August 16, 23, and 30: 9 am to 12 noon
Limited to 20 participants.
Price: $150 ($120 for GGBA members, a 20% discount).
