Date: Wednesday June 3 -- 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Description: MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline preserves one of the last remnants of what was once a vast tidal marsh. This habitat supports great populations of unique and rare bird sightings. The endangered Ridgeway’s Rail is among the many rare birds who call this protected marsh home. Other birds that can be found and have been spotted here are Marsh Wrens, Tufted Ducks, Pelicans, Brants, Greater-White fronted Geese, Eurasian-Collared Doves and so many more. The routes we’ll take have paved trails and beautiful views of the marshes and channels of San Leandro Bay. Please bring water, snacks, binoculars and a jacket just in case it gets chilly. Hope to see you there!
Limit: 12
Wedged between Interstate 880 and Oakland International Airport along the eastern edge of San Leandro Bay, we will be meeting at the Arrowhead Marsh Pier which is located to the right of Arrowhead Marsh Parking lot.
