Description: Middle Harbor Shoreline Park is one of the East Bay’s hidden gems for birdwatching. The park offers excellent opportunities to observe a wide variety of birds, from songbirds, corvids, and raptors to shorebirds, diving ducks, and seabirds along the shoreline. Its scenic waterfront trails provide outstanding wildlife viewing year-round. Species we may encounter include Terns, Gulls, Swallows, Osprey, Pelicans, Plovers, Mergansers, and Herons, among many others. We will be walking along flat paved trails, but to get the best views, we may walk through sandy sections of the public shoreline, so please come prepared for some sand!
Limit: 12
Directions: We will be meeting under the Middle Harbor Shoreline Park Main Pavilion. Located in the center of the park, it features benches and a solar-panel-covered roof. The park itself can be reached by taking either 7th St. or Middle Harbor Rd. 2777 Middle Harbor Rd, Oakland, CA 94607
